2008 AWARDS, SCHOLARSHIP, AND WELCOME BOOK CONTEST

Accreditation Manager of the Year Award

In accordance with the CAMA Constitution and By-laws an “Accreditation Manager of the Year” shall be selected annually. The person selected to receive this award shall be reimbursed for registration fees, travel expenses, and lodging costs associated with attending the CAMA Conference. Recipients of this award shall be selected from nominees who represent line-level accreditation managers who are directly involved in the accreditation process. Nominees are evaluated based on leadership ability, commitment level, and professional achievement. Please submit nominations for this award by March 21, 2008 to the CAMA President at the following address:

Linda J. Allen Memorial Scholarship - 2008

This scholarship was named in honor of the late Linda J. Allen of South Carolina, one  of CAMA’s earliest members and supporters. The CAMA Executive Board established this scholarship in 1990. The Linda J. Allen Memorial Scholarship is used to help defray expenses for an accreditation manager to attend the annual CAMA Conference. The scholarship award is based on the following criteria:

Applicant’s financial need

bullet

Applicant’s background and experience in the accreditation process

bullet

How receipt of the award will benefit the applicant and their facility or agency

Many jurisdictions are experiencing budget cuts that have a direct impact on funding for travel and training; therefore, the spirit of this year’s Linda J. Allen Memorial Scholarship will play an important role in providing an opportunity for an accreditation manager to attend the 2008 CAMA conference. Please submit your nominations by March 21, 2008 to the scholarship chairperson at the following address:

Seventh Annual Welcome Book Contest

In recognition of the fact that a quality welcome book is an invaluable tool for members of the audit team, the CAMA Executive Board will again be sponsoring a Welcome Book Contest. The wining entry will be announced at the 21ST Annual Training Conference May 31-June 3, 2008 CAMA luncheon. Welcome books may be submitted at the registration desk at the time of registration or submitted by mail to:

&

Accreditation Manager of the Year

 

CAMA sponsors two annual awards: the Linda J. Allen Scholarship Award and the Accreditation Manager of the Year. Each of the CAMA members recognized for these awards will receive travel, registration, and expenses to the Annual Training Conference.

Linda J. Allen Scholarship

Travel, registration, and expenses may be provided to a CAMA member who might otherwise be unable to attend the annual training conference due to the lack of personal and/or agency resources. Selection is based upon the potential impact the member's training may have on the accreditation process in the agency or the member's previous contributions to accreditation.

Annually, one outstanding member is recognized as the Accreditation Manager of the Year. This award considers the candidate’s leadership and commitment along with other achievements believed to be especially notable in the role as accreditation manager.
